Student Assessment

The knowledge, skills and attitudes related to end of life care and symptom management that are developed within individual courses/clerkships will be assessed within those courses/clerkships via written exam questions, clinical skills exercises, written assignments, faculty observation and/or other applicable methods.

The end of third year exam will evaluate student knowledge and skills in areas including addressing advance directives and goals of care, communicating bad news, formulating a plan for management of pain and other common symptoms, the philosophy and services provided by hospice, and developing an end of life care plan.
