• C.N. IX, X, XI exiting the jugular foramen
• C.N. XII exiting the hypoglossal canal
• sympathetic chain and ganglia
• C.N. IX
• C.N. X
• superior laryngeal n.
• C.N. IX where it enters the posterior tongue
• C.N. XII

Arteries and Veins

• common carotid artery
• internal jugular vein
• internal carotid artery
• ascending pharyngeal artery

Other

• opening of auditory (eustachian) tube
• torus tubarius
• salpingopharyngeal fold (muscle)
• uvula
• palatoglossal fold (muscle)
• palatopharyngeal fold (muscle)
• base of the tongue
• epiglottis

In addition: find the following bones and their parts:

• jugular foramen
• basilar part of occipital bone
