Hip Joint

Step 1
On one side, reflect the muscles of the anterior compartment of the thigh in layers to expose the joint capsule.
Each of the steps in the dissection includes more specific instructions for the dissection of that step. The buttons below provide lists of all the structures that will be dissected in this session.

Step 2
Clean the joint capsule.
Step 3
Open the capsule anteriorly and evulse the femoral head.

Knee Joint

Step 1
Strip the muscles from the joint capsule and reflect the quadriceps tendon, patella and patellar ligament inferiorly.
                         
Step 2
Flex the joint to view the cruciate ligaments and menisci.

Ankle Joint

Step 1
Strip the muscles from the ankle joint to expose the lateral and medial collateral ligaments. Study the ligaments of the foot.
