Abnormal Finding

When the reflexes are absent try eliciting it after re-enforcing (Jendrassik maneuver, by asking the patient to interlock and pull flexed fingers.

• Absent reflex: (Nerve, nerve root, spinal cord diseases)
• Increased reflex: (Corticospinal tract disease, hyperthyroidism, anxiety)
• Delayed relaxation: (Hypothyroidism)
