Pulmonary Angiogram

The following lists rules to consider for pulmonary angiogram:

  1. There is no need to do a pulmonary angiogram in patients with high probability scans, unless clinical suspicion for other vascular anomalies exist.
  2. There is no need to do an angiogram when the patient has a completely normal lung scan.
  3. If clinical suspicion warrants, do a pulmonary angiogram in patients with indeterminate scans.
  4. Always do pulmonary angiogram before considering the patient for surgical removal of a clot.
