Patient with hyperthyroidism.
- Note the wide eye stair. The palpebral fissure is wide.
- It is the result of retraction of the upper lid. Excess thyroxin potentiates
sympathetic activity.
- The upper lid usually covers a portion of the iris. The entire iris is visible in
this patient.
