1. What is your clinical diagnosis? Is this a medical emergency (ie life-threatening)?
2. What broad class of organisms (gram + , gram -, etc.) would you tailor your therapy toward in this patient?
3. Recognizing the organisms most likely involved, identify the class of antibiotics that you would you use. Specifically, which antibiotic regimen would you choose?
4. Would you admit this patient to the hospital?
5. Are there additional tests or studies that you will use in guiding your therapy?
