Session Objectives Teaching Methods Time
1. Describe the relevant anatomy and physiology as pertains to the examination of the arteries and veins. Lecture 50 min
2. Perform steps 5, 34, 38, 42, 52, and 53, of the BSE. Small Group discussion/demonstration
  1.  Co-facilitator leads a group discussion to review the major concepts learned form the readings and lecture.
  2. Co-facilitator demonstrates steps 5, 34, 38, 42, 52 and 53 to the group.
  3. In smaller groups, students practice these steps on one another. Each student must be observed performing these steps.
  4. Co-facilitator reviews the steps and ensures understanding by all.
  5. Co-facilitator reviews how to record the exam of the organ systems learned at that session.
