Description and Course Objectives:

Students will see patients in the Emergency department and present directly to attendings. They will be exposed to the full range of cases and experiences that are part of the practice of Emergency Medicine. Students will work a total of 15 shifts including a day at the Poison Center. Shifts will be spread over days, evenings, and nights, as well as on weekends. There are weekly didactic lectures. Clerkship goals and objectives are consistent with the core Goals and objectives expected by the Stritch School of Medicine.

 

Method of Evaluation

Written examination, end-of-course faculty evaluation, and clinical skill tracking.
