Dysplastic nevus-trunk

These lesions are usually less well-circumscribed than intradermal nevi. Often, the pigment "bleeds" into the surrounding skin as seen in this lesion. Dysplastic nevus syndrome is a debated clinical entity in which a large number of dysplastic nevi are present. Dysplastic nevus syndrome is also called B-K mole syndrome, atypical mole syndrome, and familial atypical mole-melanoma syndrome. There is evidence that these patients are at higher risk for developing melanoma.
