genetics workshop

The successful and timely completion of the Genetics Counseling session on the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clerkship is a requirement of the Stritch School of Medicine, Central Curricular Authority. I am unable to give a passing grade for the clerkship in the absence of 'Meets Expectations' for this required Competency.

This is an extraordinary learning opportunity for each of our students. It is my expectation that the following will happen:

You should report to the Loyola Outpatient Center (LOC), Women's Health Department at 9:15 am on your assigned day. This is on the second floor of the LOC.
If you anticipate being late, please contact the Genetics Counselor directly at (708) 216-6854. If the counselor is not available, please contact Jory Eaton at (708) 216-2453 or Loretta Merrill at (708) 216-5459, so they can inform the appropriate person.
Preparation for the Genetics Counseling session will include reading the following two articles before you report for your session. These will be provided to you at Orientation:
- “The Genetic Family History in Primary Care”
- “ Screening for Birth Defects During Pregnancy”
