This is probably the safest action to take with respect to
containment of contamination. A full setup with herculite on the
floor, double gloves and gowns, dosimetry and notification of all
staff that may need to participate prepares the emergency room
for almost any eventuality.
A more limited response would also be appropriate given the fact that you know that the patient is stable and that the contamination is localized to one area and confined by bandages.
