The point is to remove the contamination. Once it is removed, it will be somewhere within the REA. Containment of the contamination, regardless of the amount, is the desired goal. Staff should gown and glove at a minimum. Floor coverings aid in cleanup should significant irrigation be used and spillage occur. A limited notification of ancillary staff should be performed. X-Rays of the area may be needed to evaluate for a foreign body.
