Clinical Utility
Radiopharmaceuticals have been used clinically for a wide variety of studies which generally fall into three categories.
3. in vivo non-imaging studies
Table 5 includes a list of every
radiopharmaceutical approved for use in the US, the typical procedure
for which it is used, and the typical dose administered to an adult patient.
The list has been arranged in alphabetical order by procedure name. Doses
for pediatric studies must be scaled to the patient's body mass. Table
6 includes a list of positron-emitting
radiopharmaceuticals used for imaging, mostly in research aplications.
