Monthly Teaching Schedule

Lectures for the MICU team members are held from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in the MICU conference room. Topics to be covered include:

Mechanical ventilation
Hemodynamic embarrassment
Sepsis
Ventilator-associated pneumonia
Acute respiratory distress syndrome
Liberation from mechanical ventilation
Nephrology critical care
Hepatology critical care
Non-invasive mask ventilation
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Acid-base disturbances
Brain death

Lectures for the Pulmonary Consult team members are held from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m. each Monday and Friday, and 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. each Tuesday and Wednesday in the MICU conference room. Topics to be covered include:

Asthma
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Cough
Cystic fibrosis
Interstitial lung diseases
Lung cancer
Mycobacterial disease
Pulmonary function testing
Pulmonary hypertension
Sarcoidosis
Sleep medicine
Thromboembolic disease

Radiology conference with Dr. Patrick Fahey , Chairman of the Department of Medicine, is held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday in the MICU conference room.

Pulmonary Grand Rounds is held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. every Monday in Stritch School of Medicine room 460.
