Loyola University Medical Education Network Dissection of the Posterior Thigh and Leg

Appreciate the diamond-shaped popliteal fossa bordered by the hamstring muscles superiorly and the heads of the gastrocnemius inferiorly. In this dissection the tibial nerve (1) is reflected along with the superficial common peroneal nerve (2) exposing the popliteal artery (3) and one of the genicular branches (4). Find as many of these branches as you can.
