Unilateral hyperlucency can be seen in

• Compensatory hyperinflation
• Swyer James syndrome
• Ball valve occlusion of main stem bronchus
• Pleural effusion in supine position
• Agenesis of Pulmonary artery
• Pneumothorax
• Bullous disease
• Mastectomy or absent Pectorals

Compensatory hyperinflation of Left lower lobe following resection of left upper lobe.

Note the position of left hilum, moved way up indicating that there has been loss of  lung volume in upper chest.

Look for rib resection, as evidence for prior Surgery (Not present in this case).
