  • Clinical presentation changes once there is a complication.

  • Inflammation (diverticulitis)

What are the complications of diverticulitis?
  • Perforation

Acute Diverticulitis: A section of colon reveals acute inflammation (hyperemia, swelling) of the serosa and pericolic fat.
